A conference on the subject of “Patient-friendly
medicine” will be held in Warsaw, Poland, on 19th - 20th May 2012. The
conference will be held in the Centrum Konferencyjne Hotel Best Western
Poleczki, which is located in Warsaw, at ul. Poleczki 49.
The organizers of the Conference are Polskie
Towarzystwo Lekarskie (Sekcja Medycyny Psychosomatycznej), Polish
Academy of Sciences (PAN), European Network for Psychosomatic Medicine,
Towarzystwo Edukacji Psychosomatycznej (Polish Society for Psychosomatic
Education), Polskie Towarzystwo Balintowskie (The Polish Balint
Society), Instytut Psychosomatyczny (Psychosomatic Institute) and
Instytut Zdrowia Człowieka (Institute for Human Health).
The prime subject of the conference is psychosomatic
approach in clinical and rehabilitation medicine. The conference is
addressed to doctors, psychologists and other medical professionals.
The conference will include keynote, workshop and
poster sessions. There will be an opportunity for presenting one’s work
by means of a public address or in a poster form. Research presentations
can cover either clinical or theoretical topics on medicine, psychology
and other medical science topics. Studies on psychosocial links to
medical conditions and health are preferred.
Balint workshop sessions on 18th – 20th
May 2012 will be held as a fringe event.
Scientific aspects of the conference are to be
coordinated by a scientific committee chaired by Prof. Leszek Szewczyk.
Conference organizers expect the conference materials to be published in
a book format funded through a grant from the Polish Academy of
Sciences. Also expected is a publication of a periodical called “Sztuka
Leczenia” (The art of healing), to be focused on the subjects raised
during the conference.
The conference is expected to cater for approx. 120
participants.
The language of the conference is Polish, while
selected papers and sessions will be presented in English. No
consecutive translation services are provisioned for.

(speakers presenting research topics during poster session receive 50%
reduction)
